Raven Morris

Raven Wayne Morris, 79, passed away on February 9, 2026, at HCA Florida North Florida Hospital. Born on March 3, 1946, in China Grove, North Carolina, he was the son of the late Homer Eugene and Hazel Goodman Morris. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his siblings, Eula Mae Beaver, Jim Morris, Clayton Morris, and Viola Kluttz. Raven dedicated a significant portion of his life to working on the railroad before retiring. He had a passion for golfing, riding motorcycles, and playing gospel music and the guitar, bringing joy and music to those around him. Left to cherish his memories are his wife, Peggy Lindsay Morris, his children, Samantha Ledford (Ricky), Chris Morris (Tammy), and Andrew Morris (Tammy); his grandchildren Tabbitha Ross (Phillip) Kyle Leonard (Cody), Samuel Dustin Ledford (Brooke), Navy Morris, Saint Jacob Morris, Madison DE’Lia (Nick), Jessica Thompson (Brandon) Brent Padlo (Ashley), Levi Walker (Melanie), McKinna Morris, Nicholas Morris, Gavin Morris (Carly), Bailey Mabe, Zachary Mabe (Kiersten), and Savannah Wiliams. He also leaves behind his great grandchildren, Brooklyn Ross, Charlie Ross, Kylee Leonard, Clay Leonard, Kaitlynn Leonard, Emma Ledford, Samson Ledford, Evelyn DE’Lia, Brenton DE’Lia, Rylie O’Neal, Ashlyn Rhodes, Titus Thompson, Amillia King, Raelyn Padlo, Maddox Padlo, Kaylen Morris, Grayson Morris, Kiersten Mabe, Lily Williams, Layden Williams, and Leland Williams; and a brother Roddy Morris (Beverly). Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday February 20, 2026, at Smoky Mountain Cremations and Funeral Service with Reverend Billy Ferguson and Reverend John Swanger officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm prior to the service. Entombment will follow services at Garrett Hillcrest Memorial Park. Serving as pallbearers will be Kyle Leonard, Samuel Dustin Ledford, Gavin Morris, Nicholas Morris, Clay Leonard, Bailey Mabe, and Phillip Ross Memorial contributions may be made in his memory to the Life Works Enrichment Training Center, 58 Montgomery Street, Waynesville, NC 28786 or to the Haiti Mission. A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 pm on Sunday, March 1, 2026, at McCrabb Independent Baptist Church 7391 NE Co Rd 349 Old Town, Florida, 32600. Memorial contributions may be made in his memory to the Haiti Mission.
