Mike Edgerton

Michael Scott Edgerton was born in Atlanta, GA, on June 27, 1962, to the proud parents Sylvia Mitchell Edgerton and Robert Sanders Edgerton II. He passed away peacefully on July 29, 2026, at the age of 64; at Big Bend Hospice Care Center at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital. Michael retired from St Marks Powder. He grew up in Steinhatchee, FL, then moved to Dalton, GA, where he worked in the carpet mills. He then moved back to Florida in 1998. By November of 2000 he was building his first home. Michael met his wife Samantha in 2001, and they married on January 7, 2002. He is preceded in death by his mother Sylvia Mitchell Gaston, his stepfather Samual Gaston, and his father Robert Edgerton II. He is survived by his wife, Samantha Edgerton of Crawfordville, FL; sister, Deborah Garmley of Ocala, FL; brothers, Robert Edgerton III (Cyndie) of Hoschton, GA, James Edgerton (Shelly) of Madisonville, LA, and Timothy Edgerton (Crystal) of Ponchatoula, LA. He is also survived by three stepsisters, Deborah Greenway of Suwanee, GA, Carla Salsburg and Anita Cofelice of Melbourne, FL; two stepchildren, Courtney Brown of Tallahassee, FL and Robert Brown (Rebecca) of Bristol, FL; and several other extended family members including his godson, Joshua Edgerton of Baton Rouge, LA and nephew Robert Garmley of Ocala, FL. A Graveside service will be held 11:00 AM on Saturday, August 15, 2026 at the Waters Memorial Gardens in Steinhatchee, FL with Pastor Doyle Bell officiating.
