Darryl Dewayne Pinner: It is with great, heartfelt sorrow that we announce the unexpected passing of Mr. Darryl Pinner of Burgaw, North Carolina, on December 10, 2025 at the young age of 54 years old. Born on October 14, 1971 at Shands Hospital in Gainesville, Florida, to the Rev. Cecil and Mrs. Rosemary Pinner, he was the eldest of four children. He was a father, a son, a brother, an uncle and all-around special friend to so many people throughout his life. From a very young age, Darryl had a great love for people, often being called a "Jokester", by those who knew him well, exemplifying just how much he loved making people laugh. Darryl's kindhearted personality, and quickness to say something to brighten up someone’s day made him a young man who you could meet one time in life but remember for a lifetime. Darryl was also a hard worker, who for many years had a strong, positive work ethic who held many different professions in multiple states, ranging from a Meat Cutter in his late teens to early 20s in both Florida and Georgia, to being a professional high rise sign builder also in Georgia, as well as, working as a mechanic with PSC Primoris in Charlotte North Carolina shortly before God called him home, just to name a few. Darryl also had a deep love for music, and showcased the talent that God gave him, singing and playing both the guitar and piano in the gospel group "The Praise Makers", that he and his other siblings formed. Darryl was preceded in death by his wife, Pam Baker and his younger brothers, Michael and David Pinner. He is survived by his parents, Rev. Cecil and Mrs. Rosemary Pinner of Geneva Alabama, one son Samuel Pinner, one stepson Caj Baker both of Burgaw North Carolina, one sister, Tammy Eastman of Perry Florida, a host of nieces and nephews that he loved dearly, and an innumerable amount of friends that will keep his memory alive every time his name is mentioned. A Celebration of Life service will be held in the Chapel of Rick Gooding Funeral Home in Cross City Florida at 2:00 PM on Saturday the 13th of June, 2026. Interment will follow, but only for a season, at Butler Cemetery near Horseshoe Beach Florida, where he will be laid to rest beside his brothers and other family members.
