Carol Ann Loose

Carol Ann Loose, age 74, passed away peacefully on July 7, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of service, friendship, and devotion to her community and loved ones. Born and raised in Kiel, Wisconsin, Carol spent her formative years surrounded by family and friends who remained close to her heart throughout her life. She later lived in Manitowoc, Wisconsin, before beginning a new chapter in 1982 when she relocated to Steinhatchee, Florida. What began as a move became a lifelong home, where she embraced the warmth, charm, and close-knit spirit of the small Gulf Coast community. Carol shared many happy years with her beloved partner, Paul Bellin, until his passing in 1998. Though she experienced great loss, she remained surrounded by the love and support of family, friends, and neighbors. In 2000, Carol met her partner, Jimmy Mason, with whom she shared many years of companionship, laughter, and cherished memories. Together, they enjoyed the kindness and generosity of the community she loved so dearly. A dedicated public servant; Carol devoted more than 40 years to serving the residents of Steinhatchee through her work with the United States Postal Service. Throughout her career, she became a familiar and trusted face at the local post office, known for her dependability, professionalism, and genuine care for the people she served. Her commitment and leadership as Clerk earned her the position of Officer in Charge in 2009, a role she held with pride until her retirement in 2016. For many, Carol was more than a postal employee—she was a friend, neighbor, and steadfast presence in the daily life of the community. Outside of her career, Carol embraced life with enthusiasm and gratitude. She enjoyed square dancing, knitting, and spending time outdoors. She especially cherished fishing excursions on the Gulf of Mexico, where she found peace and joy on the water. Carol looked forward to traveling back to Wisconsin to visit family and lifelong friends, maintaining the close relationships that meant so much to her. Above all, she treasured the time spent with family and friends, creating lasting memories through simple gatherings, shared meals, and heartfelt conversations. Carol will be remembered for her kind heart, resilient spirit, unwavering work ethic, and genuine warmth. She had a remarkable ability to make people feel welcome and valued, whether through a helping hand, a thoughtful conversation, or her infectious smile. Her life was a testament to the importance of community, service, and love. She is survived by her loving partner, Jimmy Mason; siblings Kathy Tremblay, Robert and Pat Loose, Eugene Jr. and Tammy Loose, Ken and Michele Loose, and Randy Loose and Michelle (Jon) Matteson. She is also survived by Jimmy's daughter, Christine Mason, and grandson, Bentley Mason; Paul's daughter, Paula Bellin; and Rick Bellin's children, Levi Bellin and Paul Bellin. Carol also leaves behind many beloved nieces, nephews, extended family members, and countless friends whose lives were enriched by her kindness and friendship. Carol was preceded in death by her partner, Paul Bellin; Paul's son, Rick Bellin; her parents, Eugene and Lucille Loose; her brother-in-law, Al Tremblay; and her nephew, Travis Augustine. Though she will be deeply missed, Carol's legacy of compassion, dedication, and service will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. May she rest in peace, forever remembered and forever loved.
