THOMAS ESTILL STANTON “Barefoot Tommy”, 69, of Cross City passed away Tuesday, January, 10, 2107. Mr. Stanton was born July 24, 1947 to the late Wilbert and Clara Stanton in Elizabethton, Tennessee. He had lived in Dixie County for over 50 years after moving here from Lecanto, Florida. Mr. Stanton was of the Baptist faith and enjoyed shrimping, but most of all loved his family. Mr. Stanton is survived by his wife of 31 years Peggy Stanton, his sons Thomas Stanton, Michael Stanton, Joseph Stanton, and Matthew Stanton, his sisters Virginia Lacey and Martha Stanton, other family members, and friends. The family will have a memorial service in honor of Mr. Stanton at a later date.
