Sammy “Red Fish” Clyde Carr, 75, of Cross City, Florida passed away December 18, 2021. Mr. Carr was born May 9, 1946 to the late Clyde and L. J. Carr in Ocala, Florida, but had spent most of his life in the Cross City area. Mr. Carr was a truck driver prior to retiring and was a member of the Shired Island Hunting Club. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing and hunting arrowheads. Mr. Carr was a member of the Cross City Church of God. Mr. Carr is survived by his wife of 57 years Janice Carr, his son Dewayne Carr, his daughters Connie Everett (Billy) and Shannon Free (Kevin), eleven grandchildren, and thirteen great-grandchildren, and other extended family members. Funeral servies for Mr. Carr will be held 2:00 PM Wednesday, December 22, 2021 at the Rick Gooding Funeral Home Cross City Chapel, with Bro. Timmy Cannon, Pastor Doug Cobb, Pastor Joe Brooks, and Mr. Sammy Royal officiating. Interment will follow in Cross City Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
