Ruth Virginia Owens, 72 of Cross City FL, passed away peacefully on November 30th in Gainesville Fla after a lengthy illness. Born in Shamrock, FL to Jimmie Ruth Liles on 06-02-1948. She was a devoted homemaker, a mother & grandmother. She was a huge Florida Gator football fan and loved to watch them play football. Also loved spending time with her beloved cat Toby Keith. Mrs. Owens was of the Baptist faith. She is survived by her husband Wayne of 53 years, son Bobby Owens (Krystal) She has two grandchildren Megan and Bobby Owens. With one great grandchild on the way. Adoptive father Robert Black & wife Gerri, sisters Sarah Chavous, Edith Durham (David), Linda Black, and Donna Marchesani. Graveside services will be held Monday, December 7, 2020, 2:00 PM at Cross City Cemetery. Arrangements have been placed under the care of the Rick Gooding Funeral Home Cross City Chapel, with locations in Cross City 352-498-5400 and Chiefland 352-493-0050.
