Pamela Murphy

August 8, 1948 - May 1, 2022

Pamela Kay (Rubush) Murphy age 73 of Old Town, Florida went home to be with the Lord May 1, 2022. Pam was born August 8, 1948 in Winter Haven, Florida to the late Albert and Lois Rubush. She grew up in the small town of Lake Hamilton, Fl. and attended school in Haines City where she received her High School diploma. Not long thereafter March 25, 1967 she married her childhood sweetheart Virgil A. Murphy, Jr. home from Navy bootcamp. She recently celebrated their 55th anniversary, March 25. Pam was a very active and outgoing person being part of many clubs and sororities in her life. She was a covenant member of the Church of Christ in Old Town, Fl. She was a great animal lover having numerous horses, dogs, cats, chickens, pigs, etc. during her life. She loved trail riding and camping. Some of her fondest times where with friends in the saddle. She is preceded in death by her parents Albert and Lois, her brother Jack Rubush, her niece Lisa Chamlee and her great grandson Tucker Murphy. Pam is survived by her husband Virgil Allen Murphy Jr. of Old Town FL. and her sister Jean Rubush Adams (Bill) of Lake Wales, Fl. Pam is also survived by her three sons; Everett Allen Murphy of Glen St Mary, FL. James Andrew Murphy of Demopolis, Al. Mark Patrick Murphy of Haines City, Fl. 8 Grandchildren: Bryan, Samuel, Kailey, Timmy, Cody, Zach, Macey and Garrison also 3 great grandchildren: Colt, Ryder and Hayes. Pam was blessed to have a close relationship with the Lord during her life which was of great comfort at her passing. A memorial service to honor Pam’s life will be held at the Rick Gooding Funeral Home Cross City Chapel 11:00 AM Saturday, May 7, 2022, with Steve Beach officiating. Pam always loved flowers, they will be accepted at the Funeral Home.
