Murray Franklin Reeves

November 3, 1945 - February 26, 2022

Murray Franklin Reeves, 76, of Trenton, FL, died at North Florida Regional Hospital on February 26, 2022 with his family surrounding him. Murray Reeves was born in Lake City, Florida on November 3, 1945 to Ned Reeves and Laura Steedley. Murray has always been a hard worker at whatever he set his hands to. He married his wife and moved to High Springs where he went to work for Loncala Phosphate Company. Using his mechanical skills and experience in pulp wooding; he retired after 40 years. He loved serving the Lord and enjoyed helping anyone in need. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and singing in church, camp meetings, or anywhere that he could. In his latter years, Murray started a food ministry which became very close to his heart. He enjoyed helping families and feeding those in need. His true passion was sharing the love of God with everyone he met. Murray is preceded in death by his father, Ned Reeves; his parents, Isaiah and Laura Steedley of Lake City; sisters, Nancy Ratliff of Lake City, and Carol Lee Burnette of Lake City; brother Timothy Reeves of Monks Corner, South Carolina; and granddaughter, Heather Keen of Jacksonville, FL. His is survived by his wife of 52 years, Kathy Reeves; daughters, Tscharna (Glenn) Keen of Lake City, and Hope Arrington of Trenton; grandchildren Brittany Sulite of Lake City, Samantha (Taylor) Roper of Lake City, Samantha and Willow Arrington of Trenton, Shane (Ann) Keen and Tommy Keen of Lake City; 12 great grandchildren; sister, Inez (Rodney) Richards of Lake City and numerous nieces and nephews that were close to his heart. Services will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, March 3, 2022 at Joy Explosion Ministries, 3134 SW Pinemount Road, Lake City, Florida. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will follow at Corinth Cemetery, 336 NW Corinth Drive, Lake City, FL. Arrangements have been placed under the care of the Rick Gooding Funeral Home Chiefland Chapel, with locations in Cross City 352-498-5400 and Chiefland 352-493-0050.
