Mary Sue Ludlam

August 22, 1957 - September 29, 2021

Mary Sue Ludlam, 64, of O’Brien, Florida passed away September 29, 2021. Mrs. Ludlam was born August 22, 1957 to the late George and Lydia Kratz in Lexington, Missouri, but had lived in the O’Brien area since 1998 after moving here from Warrensburg, Missouri. She had worked for 18 years as an ESE Teacher at Taylor County Middle School and was of the Christian faith. In her spare time Mrs. Ludlam enjoyed going to the beach, riding horses, working in her greenhouse, making cheese from her dairy goats, and selling goods at local farmers markets. Mrs. Ludlam is survived by her husband of almost 24 years Rusty Ludlam, her sons Mel Simpson (Nikki) and Jacob Ludlam (Nicole), her daughters Christa Simpson (Harold Bass) and Nina Snipes (Kurt), Danae McKim (Casey), her brothers Gary Kratz (Janice), Larry Kratz (Gladys), Terry Kratz (Judy), ten grandchildren, and other extended family members. Funeral services for Mrs. Ludlam will be held 7:00 PM Saturday, October 2, 2021 at the Rick Gooding Funeral Home Cross City Chapel, with Rev. Brian Poole officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Flowers will be accepted, but memorial donations may be made to the Norris Cotton Cancer Center or the Cryptic Mason Medical Research Foundation. Services will take place at a later date in Higginsville Missouri under the direction of Stewart-Hoefer Funeral Home. Interment will take place in Higginsville City Cemetery. Arrangements have been placed under the care of the Rick Gooding Funeral Home Cross City Chapel, with locations in Cross City 352-498-5400 and Chiefland 352-493-0050.
