Marian Lee Valentine Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Marian Lee Valentine, 77, of Cross City, Florida passed away January 27, 2022. She was born May 15, 1944 in Waynesboro, Mississippi, to the late Sam and Willie Mae Pitts and came to Florida in 1967. She retired after many years as a nurse, serving in various capacities including, the prison health system, and local nursing home and in-home health care. She enjoyed her family, working as a nurse, participating in walks for cancer, and playing slots in Biloxi when visiting her home state of Mississippi. Marian is survived by her daughters, Marian “Melisa” Southall, Margaret Malone, Edie (James) Chavous; son, John (Brandy) Valentine; 11 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; brother, Dub (Sandra) Pitts; sister Mary Ellen Daw; and a host of nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Bill Pitts and Pete Pitts; sisters, Roebuck Edwards and Linda Carol Smith. Memorial services for Marian will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, February 12, 2022 at the Rick Gooding Funeral Home Cross City Chapel. Visitation will be from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM prior to the service.
