Elsa Prevatt Summers

Elsa Prevatt Summers, 78, of Trenton, Florida passed away March 26, 2022. Mrs. Summers was born April 16, 1943, to the late Lewis and Florence Prevatt in Levy County, Florida. She was a lifelong resident of Chiefland and Trenton, attended Chiefland Elementary and was a graduate of Chiefland High School. She was a licensed practical nurse and earned her associate degree in nursing at Santa Fe Community College. Mrs. Summers was a devout Christian and a member of the Church of Christ. She enjoyed annual mountain trips with her family, trips to Branson with her cousins, attending her grandchildren’s ball games, school events and celebrating their every accomplishment, reading, cross stitch, and spending time with her husband. She was happiest when she was surrounded by those she loved. Her favorite saying was “always let your love shine”, and she did so generously with her family. Mrs. Summers is survived by her sons, Jeff (Cheryl) Twombly of Chiefland, Charles (Bernice) Twombly of Bell, and Randy (Belinda) Wilkerson of Chiefland; daughter, Angel L. Williams of Bell; brothers, Bill (Janice) Prevatt of Chiefland, Frank (Margie) Prevatt of Chiefland, and Lewis (Cherri) Prevatt of Chiefland; sister-in-law, Cleo Prevatt of Chiefland; 7 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren and she was excited to welcome her fourth great grandchild in September. She is preceded in death by her husband, Jimmie Summers, and her brother Claude Prevatt. Memorial services for Mrs. Summers will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, April 16, 2022 at the Rick Gooding Funeral Home Chapel in Chiefland with Pastor Kent Heaton officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
