Carla B. Eberhardt

Carla Bryan Eberhardt, 57, of Horseshoe Beach, Florida passed away October 5, 2023, after a long illness. Carla was born September 16, 1966, in Winter Haven, Florida. She lived in Auburndale, FL most of her life, but she and her beloved husband, John, moved to Horseshoe Beach in 2016. She worked as an Insurance Adjuster with State Farm, prior to retiring, and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Horseshoe Beach. She was a talented singer and sang with a group (Shekinah Glory) from her church in Auburndale for several years. They travelled all over singing in different churches in Florida. Carla and John ran the sound system at First Baptist for several years. She was an avid fisherwoman and always hunted with her Daddy and her brother. She and John have two fur babies, Skittles and Pixie that will greatly miss their “Mom.” Carla enjoyed doing crafts as long as it didn’t involve sewing..,.she left that up to Mom. She was a loving, giving lady that would help anyone at any time. She had a great sense of humor even with all her mishaps during her disease. She shared her faith in Jesus every day and so many people were influenced and uplifted by her faith and testimony. She used her ALS as a platform to witness to so many people. She could no longer speak vocally, but had a computer operated by her eyes and used it daily to share God’s love. She is so loved and will be greatly missed. Carla is survived by her husband of 8 years, John Eberhardt, her mom, Shirley Bryan, Horseshoe Beach, her brother Phillip Bryan (Tammy), Horseshoe Beach, her nephew Sam Bryan, Horseshoe Beach, and other extended family members. She was preceded in death by her Dad, Carl Bryan, her paternal grandparents, Sam and Mabel Bryan, maternal grandparents, Dewey and Berdine Jackson. A Celebration of Life will be held for Carla at 2:00 PM Monday, October 9, 2023, at the Rick Gooding Funeral Home Chapel, with Sammy Royal, Pastor Donny Ownby, and Pastor Larry Knight officiating. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the First Baptist Church of Horseshoe Beach, Disaster Relief Fund, P.O. Box 157, Horseshoe Beach, FL 32648.
