Bobby Joe Pinner, 83, of Old Town, Florida passed away April 15, 2022. Mr. Pinner was born September 22, 1938 to the late Paul and Vera Pinner in Horseshoe Beach, Florida, and had been a lifelong Dixie County resident. He was raised in the Church of God and had retired from the Florida Department of Transportation. Mr. Pinner was a Veteran of the United States Navy, serving on the U.S.S. Saratoga, and during the Cuban Missile Crisis. In his spare time he enjoyed traveling, hunting, and sharing his love of fishing. Mr. Pinner is survived by his daughter Sheila Ragsdale (Casey), his brothers Jimmy Pinner (Pam) and Ronny Pinner (Judy), his sisters Janice Carr and Velma Cox (Charlie), his companion Wanda Higgs, three grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and other extended family members. He was preceded in death by his son Bobby Joe Pinner, Jr., his brother Fred Pinner, and his sister Judy Marsh. Funeral services for Mr. Pinner will be held 2:00 PM Tuesday, April 19, 2022 at the Rick Gooding Funeral Home Cross City Chapel, with Pastor Gary Keen officiating. Interment will follow in the Cross City Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations be made to Haven Hospice Foundation.
