Woodrow Horace Quincey

Woodrow Horace Quincey, 81, of Trenton, Florida, passed away May 29, 2022. He was born December 31, 1940 in Trenton, Florida, to the late Stacy and Grace Quincey. Horace was raised on a farm three miles outside of town and graduated from Trenton High School, class of 1958. He was very active in sports and FFA and was elected state FFA Vice President from his district. He farmed with his dad for a short while after high school then joined the United States Army. He spent time at Ft. Jackson, South Carolina, and was stationed in South Korea for his final year of the Army. Horace returned home and entered Central Florida Community College where he earned his Associate of Arts Degree. He began his chosen career field in insurance; first in a debit capacity, then for Farm Bureau in Alachua County. An opportunity opened up in Farm Bureau back home in Trenton and he accepted. He worked for several years in the Tri County area of Trenton, Chiefland and Cross City before opening his own independent insurance agency; Tri County Insurance Services, Inc. Horace loved his profession, his clients, and the community he served. He was fortunate enough to earn many awards and win various trips with his work. He and Elizabeth loved to travel and follow the Florida Gators, holding season tickets to home and away games for many years. They were avid Gator fans and have been to every SEC stadium. Horace was a man of faith and thanked God for any success he might have achieved in this life through his ability to work hard. He loved his Lord, cherished his family, and loved to cheer for the Florida Gators. Horace is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Wheeler Quincey; his adored son, Stephen Horace (Musa) Quincey; his stepdaughter, Jennifer Bond; his sister, Kathy Quincey (Gary) Ward; and sister-in-law, Connie Quincey. He is preceded in death by his brother, James Quincey. Funeral services for Mr. Quincey will be held 11:00 AM Thursday, June 2, 2022 at Bethel Baptist Church, 7070 SW CR 334A, Trenton, FL 32693 with Rev. Rick Lawrence officiating. Interment will follow in the Pine Grove Baptist Cemetery, 16655 NW CR 339, Trenton, FL 32693. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service.
