Mary Inez David

Mary Inez David, 91, of Trenton, Florida, passed away February 3, 2018. Inez was born on April 13, 1926 in Old Town, Florida. She worked in the medical field, formerly as a mental health technician and counselor and then as an EMT. She then enrolled in Sante Fe College and graduated with an Associate of Science RN degree. She worked with North Florida Regional Hospital, Lancaster Correctional and with her son Mike in his medical practice in Kansas. She then became the administrator for Gentiva Home Health until retiring at the age of 80. She was a former Sunday school teacher attending First Baptist Church of Trenton and New Prospect Baptist Church in Old Town. She served as the Tuberculosis Association Chairman in Montgomery County, Kansas and was the nurse for Woodman of the World Summer Camp for several different years. She traveled with the Cadets of Bergen Drum and Bugle Corp as nurse throughout the US for competition. She enjoyed swimming, going to the beach, fishing and boating, flowers and gardening. She was a loving mother and was lovingly referred to as “Mom” by many of her children’s and grandchildren’s friends. She loved sewing and creating costumes for dance recitals and Neewollah plays. She loved her Florida Gators and especially loved to watch her Gators play football. She is survived by her son Dr. Michael David (Terri) of Grove, OK; daughters, Suzanne David of Trenton, FL and Diane (Paul) DeVore of Wichita, Kansas; brothers, Eddie Marsh of Cross City, FL and Jack Marsh of Chickamauga, GA; 10 grandchildren; Suzie Gann, Tara Traylor, Carrie Dees(Darrell), Dr. Ryan David (Marjorie), Joshua David (Lora), Emily Carpenter (Tyson), Aaron David (Toni), Kelly Glasgow (Grant), Stewart DeVore (Allie), Chad DeVore and 20 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Irving and Fannie (Albritton) Dyal, brothers, Ellis, Neal and Lloyd Dyal, Sr., and sisters, Gracie Frier and Geneva Hudson. Funeral services will be held at New Prospect Baptist Church in Old Town, FL, Saturday, February 10, 2018 at 11:00 AM with Rev. Jason Jones officiating. The family will receive friends at the church an hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Summerville Cemetery at New Prospect Baptist Church.
