Larry Bush

Larry (Smut) Bush, 74, went to his heavenly home September 7, 2022. He was at home surrounded by family and friends. He was born August 3, 1948 in Lake City, Fl. to Mary Ollie and Kendon Bush. Larry grew up on a cattle ranch in the First District of Dixie County. He enjoyed fishing and was an avid hunter, hunting with friends in FL, GA, AL and sharing a cabin in Mississippi with childhood friends. Every year for 46 years he enjoyed the tradition of camping at Smokemont with beloved friends and family. He loved Southern Gospel Music. He sang with various gospel groups and enjoyed sibling harmony with his sister, Cherie. Larry was a member of First Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and sang in the choir. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend. Larry graduated from Dixie County High School, class of ’66 and attended Lake City Junior College. Larry was a member of the US Armed Forces from 1967 to 1971 where he served in the US Air Force as Security Police. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War. Larry retired from Georgia Pacific Corporation and Dixie County Property Appraiser’s Office. Larry is survived by his wife of 52 years, Angie Pinner Bush, son, Chad Bush (Kristi) of Perry, FL., grandchildren, Jordan Bush, Chase Bush (Danielle), Layton Bush, Mikayla Parker (James), and Addison Grace Bush, great-grandchildren Ryker Bush and Bentley Parker, sister Cherie Norton (Larry), sister-in-law Audrey Bush, brother-in-law, Leon Pinner, Jr, sister-in-law, Cathy Johnson (Ronald) and other extended family members and friends. Larry was preceded in death by his parents Kendon and Mary Ollie Bush and his brother, Kenneth Bush. Larry was a godly man and a positive influence on many lives and will be greatly missed.
