Jimmy Forehand

James Franklin “Jimmy” Forehand passed away on September 13, 2026, at Haven Hospice in Chiefland, Florida. Jimmy was born April 28, 1946 in Shamrock, Florida. He graduated from Dixie County High School in 1964 and served in the United States Army, from 1965 until 1967. He served in the Vietnam War and earned the following metals and commendations: National Defense Service Metal; Sharpshooter (Rifle-M-14); Vietnam Service Metal Star; Republic of Vietnam Campaign Metal w/Device 1960; Good Conduct Medal and Overseas Bar. Jimmy spent the majority of his life as a Logger and was certified as a Master Logger. He owned and operated Jimmy’s Saw Shop was well known and respected as a small engine genius. Jimmy is survived by his wife Carol Cothron Forehand; his children, Jana Forehand (Charlie) Watson, Donna Forehand McCall, Jimmy Forehand, Jr and Jennifer Forehand (Scott) Osteen; his brother, Johnny Forehand and his sister Nancy Forehand Ables; his extended family, Deanna (Jessie) Joiner, DeAvin (Matt) Pate and Dana (Scott) Wright. Jimmy had many beloved grandchildren and great grandchildren. Jimmy also had a great number of nieces and nephews who thought he hung the moon. He was preceded in death by his parents; Benjamin (Benjie) Forehand and Jeanette O’neal Forehand, his brothers Tommy, Ronnie, Bobby, Billy and Wayne Forehand and his sister Jeanie Forehand Rollison. Jimmy served the Lord in many ways and was committed to sharing his faith in hopes of leading the lost to salvation. He served as a deacon for many years and held many job titles throughout his active membership. He was beloved for his generosity and his willingness to help others. He will be remembered by those who are blessed by his memories and loved him dearly. The family requests in lieu of flowers donations be made to Haven Hospice of Chiefland Florida. A funeral service will be held 3:00 PM Thursday, September 17, 2026, at the McCrabb Independent Baptist Church in Old Town, with Pastor David Downing and Pastor Raymond Bideaux officiating. Interment will follow at the McCrabb Church Cemetery.
