Janice Parrott

Janice Fay Hill Parrott, age 76, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, December 10, 2020. Janice was born 4 minutes before her twin, Joyce Kay on January 7, 1944 to Perry and Mattie Lou Hill. She was born, raised and spent her life in Dixie County. She graduated from Dixie County High School and went on to have a career as an Insurance Agent with Hill Insurance. Janice was a loving caretaker of anyone in need in her family. She was a selfless person, always putting others before herself. Janice was the fifth child out of ten and loved her siblings very much. Janice loved to be outdoors and spent her younger years at the springs and Shired Island with her children and family. She loved to hunt and collect arrow heads with her family. She was known for her beautiful sewing of many blankets that she loved to give to her grandchildren and people that she loved. You could find Janice on the porch or by the pond enjoying her family, friends, flowers and birds. Janice was quick witted and always up for an adventure. She was of Baptíst faith and loved the Lord. Janice is survived by her children, Cheryl Riels, Lynn (Timmy) Cannon, and Dwayne (Michelle) Riels; her sisters, Ann Brannin, Joyce (Jim) Davis, Helen (Cookie) Liles; her brothers Jerry (Faith) Hill and Sidney Hill. Her grandchildren, who knew her as Nanny; Jacob (Kassie) Keen, Justin Keen, Caitlen Valentine, Dusty (Nichole) Cannon, Trell Cannon, Jana (Joseph) Richardson, Danny (Heather) Riels, and Miriah (Hayden) Owen. She was Nanny Pet to Rylan, Weston and Joel Lord. Her great-grandchildren; Emma, Levi, Luke and Kyndal Keen, Emilee, Noah, Brooklyn, Karson and Josey Cannon, Isaiah and Emre Richardson and Kyla Owen. Many, many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, Lendell Riels and Rudolph Parrott; Her sisters, Sarah Roberts and Elaine Hill. Brothers Eugene Hill and Galen Hill. Nanny loved everyone. But there is no stronger bond than the love of a twin. If you could not find the twins, they were on a Pepsi Run. A memorial service will be held in honor of Mrs. Parrott 2:00 PM Sunday, December 13, 2020 at the Rick Gooding Funeral Home Cross City Chapel. The family requests anyone who received a blanket from Mrs. Parrott to bring it to the service and put it on the back of the chair where they are seated, and the family will also receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
