James Hudson

James Richard Hudson, 61, Jim sadly passed away on September 10, 2025 at UF Health Shands, Gainesville, FL from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident. He was a dedicated family man, a loving husband, great father, caring friend and the most amazing Papa Jim to his grandchildren. He and his family also welcomed many children over the years into their home that needed the love and support of a family. Driven by an endless thirst for knowledge, Jim was a lifelong learner, a devoted leader and a great mentor who had a passion for discovering new things, and researching every angle to pursue the truth. This spirit which characterized his life translated into lessons he earnestly imparted onto those around him. Over the years, he enjoyed family time, traveling, playing pool, strumming on his guitar, bull riding, truck driving, he also loved gardening, working with his hands, taking his grandchildren on beach vacations, and long walks on the beach with his wife. Jim’s legacy of his love of family, his knowledge, perseverance, his humor and compassion for others will be carried forward by those who had the privilege of knowing him. His remarkable life will forever be an inspiration, a testament to the power of an indomitable spirit enthused with love, compassion, curiosity and resilience. Born to Francis W. Hudson, Jr. and Gloria Jean Bartlett Hudson on December 7, 1963 in Boise, Idaho. Graduate of St. Cloud High School and served his country for 8 years in the US Armed Forces, serving in the Gulf War. Leaving the military in 1991, and settling his family in Trenton, FL. He was employed locally, and owned his own business for 17 years, before choosing a new path. He was employed by Crystal Tractor & Equipment at the time of his death. He is survived by his loving wife Denise Hudson, son’s Michael Landers and Ryan Hudson, father, Francis W. Hudson, brother Jeff Hudson (Denise), sisters Laura Kessler (Mark), Christine Simmons (Ty), and Shannon Hudson, grandchildren Madison, Lance, Gracie, Bethany and Dakota along with many nieces, nephews and cousins. Preceded in death by his mother Gloria, his grandparents and many others. He will be greatly missed by many, and his lessons, strength and love will live on in those who knew and loved him. Memorial service will be held Sunday, September 21, 2025, at 2:00 pm, at Rick Gooding Funeral Home Chiefland Chapel, with Pastor David Jones officiating.
