Edith Etts

Edith Marie Clark Etts, lovingly known to so many as “Miss Edie” and “Gigi” to her great-grandchildren, lived a full and beautiful life of 90 years, surrounded by love, family, and cherished memories. Edith was born on September 4, 1935, in Maryland. As a young girl, she moved to Palatka, Florida, where she was raised and attended school. She enjoyed playing basketball during her high school years and carried that same spirit of strength and determination throughout her life. She went on to build a long and dedicated career with the phone company, from which she retired after many years of service. Edith shared 56 wonderful years of marriage with her beloved husband, Steve Etts. In 1987, they made their home in Steinhatchee, Florida, where she embraced the coastal lifestyle she loved. Edith had a creative soul and found joy in painting and crafting, often filling her home with her handmade pieces. Together, Edith and Steve spent summers traveling throughout the western United States, creating memories that would last a lifetime. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She is survived by her children, Donna Duttenhaver and Mike Duttenhaver and his wife Chrissy; stepdaughter Terri; and daughter-in-law Margie, wife of her late stepson Craig Etts. She was a proud grandmother to Kayla Bowman (Zane) and a loving “Gigi” to her great-grandchildren Emmett, Hannah, and Macy. She is also survived by her brother, Bobby Clark (Mary). Edith was preceded in death by her parents, Hattie and Howard Clark; her siblings, Howard, Earl, Betty, Ronnie, and Andy; and her stepson, Craig Etts. Known by all as “Miss Edie,” she had a warm, welcoming spirit and a kindness that touched everyone she met. Her life was a reflection of love, creativity, and devotion to her family. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved her. A graveside service will be held 3:00 PM Saturday March 28, 2026 at the Waters Memorial Gardens in Steinhatchee, Florida with Rev. Tim Holden officiating.
