Bobby Sue Sapp

Bobby Sue Sapp, 78, of Gainesville, Florida, passed away on September 24, 2024. Born on December 27, 1945, in Macclenny, Florida, she was the daughter of the late Allen and Clara Rhoden. Bobby Sue grew up surrounded by her five older sisters in Baker County, Florida. After losing her husband, Harmon Keen, Bobby Sue remarried and found happiness with Mitchell Sapp who passed away in 2022. She was also preceded in death by her sisters, Kathryn Hilliard, Aline Keene, Elouise Davis, and Peggy Harvey; and her son, Allen Keen. Bobby Sue leaves behind a legacy of love through her children: Mechele (Ricardo) Castillo, Anthony (Nicole) Sapp, Earnie Keen, and Beverly (Brandon) Wonders. She is also survived by her sister, Patricia Harris, as well as numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren who will carry her memory forward. An active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Bobby Sue served in various leadership roles, using her exceptional organizational skills and compassion to uplift the Young Women and Women of her congregation. Her dedication extended to her role as a temple worker and her passion for genealogy, where she found joy in helping others uncover their family histories. Bobby Sue loved spending time with her husband and family. She stayed in touch with her family and friends near and far. She could always be counted on to cook up a good home-made meal and your favorite birthday cake. Known as an excellent, albeit unpaid, detective, there was little that escaped her notice—her friends and family often joked that no secret could remain hidden from her keen intuition. Bobby Sue will be fondly remembered for her kind heart, generous spirit, and unwavering love for her family. Her legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew her, and she will be dearly missed. Funeral services for Bobby Sue will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, October 1st, 2024 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 10600 SW 24th Avenue, Gainesville, FL. A visitation will begin one hour prior to the service.
