Ann Futch

Annie Laura Hill Futch, 84, went home to be with our Lord on Sunday, June 15, 2025. She passed away peacefully surrounded by family at Royal Oak Nursing and Rehabilitation, Titusville, Florida. Ann, the eldest of three girls, was born on October 25, 1940, in Laurel, Mississippi to Red and Margaret Hill. She and her family moved to Cross City, Florida in 1957, when Ann was in the 11th grade. She married her husband, Ray Futch, on November 1, 1958. Ann soon became a mother of three children. She dutifully moved her family all around the U.S. (and Guyana, South America) to follow Ray’s employment before setting in Mims in the early 1970’s. She became a member of over 50 years of First Baptist of Aurantia, where she diligently served as a church secretary, VBS and nursery worker, and chaired the bereavement committee as well. She cherished her Sunday School class friends and vacationed with them often on sightseeing and hunting trips. Ann loved to cook, sew, garden, and could out fish everyone with a cane pole. She especially loved her grandchildren and was at her happiest when holding a grandbaby! Ann is survived by her husband of 66 years, Ray Futch; son Michael Futch (Yvonne Metheny); daughters Karen Strickland (Scott Strickland) and Jayne Lytle (Foster Lytle); grandchildren Mary-Michael Futch (John Suggs), Katie Powell (Evan Powell), Laura Muyingo (Godfrey Muyingo), Zachary Jones (Sarah Jones), Shelby Lytle, Maggie Menendez (Justin Menendez); great-grandchildren Josselyn, Jameson, Holleigh, Jade, Sonny, and Asa, and beloved sisters Marie Bennett (Dennis Bennett), and Barbara “Bob” Corbin (Randy Corbin). A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, August 2, 2025 at First Baptist of Aurantia, Mims (Visitation at 10:00am), and a second memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, August 9, 2025 at Rick Gooding Funeral Home, Cross City (Visitation at 10:00am).
